SUBJECT:
SPECULATIVE PROPOSAL

JANUARY, 2016.

BACKGROUNG INFORMATION
I am writing from “Families In Need Network-Zambia” a Community Based Organization initiated for the purpose of helping the families in need of Northern Province and Zambia at large.
The organization was formed in January, 2015 with the aim of providing social and economic needs of the families in need.
Having existed for a year to date, we have started processing the registration modalities to give the organization the legal status.
VISION
Families Inspired.
MISSION STATEMENT
Empowering families in need socially & economically, Advocating for Good governance, Peace and Justice.
Goal
Committed to social and economic empowerment of families in need
OBJECTIVES
 To enhance response to the fight against Gender Based Violence at family levels
 To promoting Human rights at family
 To mobilize families to participate in HIV/AIDS activities such as Home-based care activities, Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT Day) and World AIDS day
 To enhance response to improved food security among families in need
 To campaign against Corruption to enhance development for the benefit of families in need
 To establish a “Safety Home” for children in crisis
 To campaign against all forms of child abuse such as early marriages, girl child defilement and child trafficking

THEMATIC AREAS:
We have taken a new approach by wanting to embark on the following thematic areas;
 Food Security
 Child Protection ( Advocating for Child Rights)
 Education School Support for orphaned children
 HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention
 Stopping Gender Based Violence.
 Family Sponsorship systems

INTERVENTIONS:
 Under Food security we shall endeavor to help vulnerable families access food relief and agriculture in puts to end hunger.
 Child Protection activities will aim at creating a safe living environment for the children. We have continued to experience child abuse economically, sexually and child trafficking which is a vice which not yet fully understood by the marginalized community members. We have also seen child streetism increasing steadily because so far there is no policy to end child streetism in a rural town like Kasama.
 As for HIV/AIDS sector, we would like to establish an HIV Counseling and Centre. Mobile Counseling and Testing Services will be undertaken to reach out every one with HIV Testing and Counseling Services.
 Children are future leaders and without educating them, the global village may not future leader. Also education is a right for a child regardless of their status in society. Therefore under education we wish to provide education support to orphans and vulnerable children drawn from families in critical need.
 Gender Based Violence is a vice which has proved to be rampant in almost every family. We wish to join the world in the fight for vice for safe living homes for family members.
 Under family sponsorship systems, we wish to link individual families to interested individual, schools, churches or families for sponsorship. Photos for selected families will be prepared and submitted upon request to interested and would be sponsors and the relationship will be coordinated by our organization staff. Linking families to well wishers for support will result in improved living standards for the families concerned.
In case your organization has interest to work with us in any of the thematic areas, kindly do not hesitate to contact us on the following Email: familiesinneedksm@gmail.com as we would like very much to partner with your organization on any of the said projects.
Would this be possible? What would the best way to take this forward?

I look forward to hear from you.
Best wishes.
